The Farmhouse Reviews

Great place to stay
The farmhouse was well equipped for a large group and was lovely and spacious. The location was perfect for access to the beach and Robin Hoods Bay and the garden an absolute delight. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to have a memorable holiday.
The house is situated in beautiful surroundings, overlooking the sea and hills around. The garden is spacious and very well kept, inviting young children to play and wander. All ages can play tennis in the court. The house is very comfortable, well equiped, with inspiring decorations. We had a great holiday.
We loved staying at The Farmhouse, it was situated perfectly within sight of the sea, close to amenities and gloriously surrounded by views of North Yorkshire. The Farmhouse was beautifully appointed and comfortable and well equipped for an easy, enjoyable stay. Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Farmhouse the house was warm and well appointed, with a very well stocked kitchen. Our children loved rockpooling and fossil hunting down on the beach at Boggle Hole. We also loved the walks direct from the door to Robin Hoods Bay and Ravenscar. It was also a short drive to Whitby for fish and chips! Thank you. We would love to visit again.
We had a lovely stay at the farmhouse. The house is spacious, warm and comfortable. It was well equipped with everything we needed. There are beautiful views and a large garden. Its only a short walk down to the beach at Boggle Hole. Theres a lovely circular walk to Robin Hoods Bay. We were sad to leave!

Loved our stay at Boggle Hole. The views were great, especially liked watching the loveliest, happiest herd ever. While sitting on the bench swing with a drink watching the sunset, a barn owl swooped right past. And there were cute bats! And a squirrel and sheep in the garden, which the kids enjoyed. Short walk to the craggy beach and Robin Hood Bay when the tide was out. Popped into Whitby for meals out, and Sainsburys is en route. Missed out on tennis when fog bound but played games and watched films instead. One night there was a lighting cloud storm, very dramatic and UFO like!! The farmhouse itself was extremely comfortable, well equipped and elegant the owner clearly cares. Thank you!!
Located within walking distance of the sea. Big farmhouse for multigenerational family to have time together. Great range of kitchen equipment. The garden is extensive and our toddlers loved the play equipment.
Lovely house in a great location. Extremely comfortable.
This charming, very wellappointed and beautifully decorated property was perfect for our extended family of ages 11 to 84. The views all around it were stunning. When I had to contact the owner on one occasion, her response was immediate and positive. Would certainly recommend it.
We had a family holiday and loved the house and in particular the gardens which are fabulous. It is a very well stocked house with everything you can need for a great week with friends and family.
Adrian
We enjoyed the cottage immensely loads of space and the outside areas were amazing. Couple of issues though For a cottage that caters for up to 10 people we thought the kitchen was a little under equipped, no really big pans, no slotted spoons etc. The ovens were inconsistent to say the least top right ovens knob wasnt on properly which made it difficult to control bottom left oven took nearly 90 minutes to do frozen chips in it! Overall though an excellent cottage
A wonderful place to stay! Beautifully decorated and maintained with everything you could possibly need. Garden and setting was stunning and the tennis court was an added bonus. Sainsburys delivery worked brilliantly thanks for that tip from another reviewer!. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning.
Denise
Excellant property! Had everything we needed. Great garden with loads of space for the children to play. Plenty of games supplied to occupy evenings after long days out. The beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Thank you for such a great property.
Patience
We really enjoyed our stay. The house and garden are much nicer than the pictures! We were only 2 but could see that there was ample room for various family combinations. Our only moan inside the house was that the tv in the living room was rather high up the wall mantlepeice level would be better. Apart from there was everything we needed and everything was comfortable. A big plus were the amazing views from every window! Outside also amazing views and peace and quiet, birdsong, lambs baaing and the occasional tractor noise Good outside tables and plenty of room for games in the garden plus nice tennis court which did have some racquets and balls in a box court side. It is quite isolated but we had a Sainsburys delivery at the beginning of the week which solved that problem. Waking to Boggle Hole and Robin Hoods Bay was easy if hilly, steep hilly We are 82 and 75. The local beaches are good for rock pools etc but watch the tides. I was brought up near Sandbanks in Dorset so long sandy beaches totally different from the North Yorkshire ones. There are a few properties on the site but they are so arranged that each have their own privacy. We would thoroughly recommend this property.
Very nice place From everyone we thank you
We were very impressed with how well The Farmhouse is planned out and the kitchen was very well equipped. Also, supplies of consumables were very generous. It will be at its best in the summer when the garden can be used fully but it was cosy and comfortable in October.
Just perfect! The Farmhouse is a fabulous property set in a beautiful, quiet location with stunning views across the countryside and sea. Warm, inviting with lots of space for the larger family, furnished to a high standard with great attention to detail, everything you need was provided, great garden, plenty of parking. Enjoyed the beach a few minutes walk away and over the cliffs to Robin Hoods Bay then back along the beach at low tide. My small grandchildren loved the rock pools. We had a fantastic week would highly recommend. Thank you.
We loved our stay at the Farmhouse. The house is beautiful with gorgeous views from every window. It was perfect for our family with lots of space for everyone. Beds were very comfortable and the house was lovely and warm. We were sad to leave. We would love to come back again one day. Thank you for having us.
Beautiful farm house with the most wonderful views of coast and countryside. The house was exceptionally comfortable, with an extremely well equipped kitchen.Could easily have accommodated a much larger party than ours.

Spacious, wellequipped, clean, tastefully furnished farmhouse on the road leading to a sandy beach. Lovely, wellcared for and vast garden. Attentive hosts. What could be better for a summer, family holiday?
Christopher
The Farmhouse is a lovely place to stay. It is spacious and we 6 were able to be ourselves and hide away if we wanted to. There was nothing in the way of utensils or other domestic requirements for which the house was wanting. A few things did however take the edge of our unreserved satisfaction 1 No non slip mats for baths or showers, 2 The small bedroom door 1st floor would not close properly, 3 The use of modern curtain poles in the bedrooms meant that the super thick curtains did not work against the rising sun which poured in through the large gaps around the curtains we didn't get as much sleep as we would have liked, 4 A door is required between the master bedroom and the closet which has no curtain again a problem of light in the morning. Sort these out and we would love to go back even though it is 3 miles to the main road!!
Frances
Really friendly and helpful owners. Gorgeous property. Kitchen well equipped.
The Farmhouse was precisely what was advertised as we had hoped. It was clean, spacious, the garden was large, and the views spectacular. The house was full of character, quiet and was well equipped to make our stay comfortable. It was also well sited near to the sandy beach, but with enough rocks for exploring and crabbing, and from where lots of lovely walkscycling could be undertaken. The lovely seaside town of Robin Hoods Bay was also easily accessible by walking along the beach a short distance allowing for the tide times. But even then, a nice path was in place across the cliffs overlooking the bay. Suffice to say that my family and I bought back many nice memories of our week there.
Very comfortable accommodation with lovely views. Perfect for family get together.
This is an amazing property. Lots of beds and bathrooms and the whole place is so comfortable and warm. The table in the kitchen was wonderful and we enjoyed our meals there. The location is perfect. We walked down to the beach every day. Sometimes we walked along to Robin Hoods Bay and once to see seals at Ravenscar breathtaking. We paddled and rockpooled and played in the sand. The car didnt get used once in the week. Fossil hunting was also a daily pastime. An amazing house to do all this from.
Very comfortable stay. Lots of room, great facilities and location.
A beautiful property. So warm. So well equipped. An abundance of towels. The little things that make such a difference. Loads of loo roll. Cooking oil. Tea and proper coffee. Separate freezer. Washing powder and dishwasher tablets. Every guest was pulling back the bedding to find out where they could buy the mattresses. Already looking to book again.
Pauline
We had a wonderful time at the farmhouse. Had everything we needed and a lovely garden for the children to play in Thank you would definitely recommend it
3 generations of the family had an amazing week in the farmhouse. Everything we needed was there. Very comfortable and we felt at home as soon as we walked theough the door. Well definitely book again.
Elizabeth
It is a lovely house for a family group. So much space even with 6 adults and 3 under fives. Outside area excellent.
William
We have been here before and normally go down to the beach and use the Cafe and toilets at the YHA rather than walking into RHBay or back up the hill to the cottage. However due to a landslip the YHA is closed until June at the earliest we were told. Not a major problem but something people should be aware of.
2nd time at the farmhouse with all the family and despite covid and the weather still created some lovely memories. Special mention to the beds really comfortable, the views are amazing and the garden is the best of all , if you are lucky enough for a hot day and warm evening then I can think of no better place to have a family bbq
Beautiful house in stunning surroundings with loads of space. Every need catered for. Will book again.
The pictures of the house on the website didn't really do it justice, it was even better! It was a brilliant house for a family holiday, everyone loved it from the grandparents down to the grandchildren. The garden was amazing. Bring back the chickens and it would be perfect. Made use of the tennis court too, a nice extra feature.
Katherine
We booked this holiday for a family get together for our Golden Wedding Anniversary having searched for a property that would appeal to three generations and we were not disappointed. The house was very well furnished and extremely comfortable. The lovely garden was a real plus for the children to run around and play in while we relaxed ourselves outside and enjoyed the lovely weather, taking advantage also of the gas barbecue for a great family afternoon dining in the garden. We chose to eat in for some of our stay making use of the fully equipped kitchen and the family dining room which seated our party of eleven easily. The whole area is outstandingly beautiful, from the farmhouse you can walk down to the beach at Boggle Hole. Robin Hood Bay is a short car ride away and well worth a visit. We would certainly love to revisit the property in the future with family or with friends as it had everything you could possibly want for a comfortable and relaxing holiday providing a brilliant base for visiting the beautiful surrounding areas.
Lesley
Lovely house, comfy beds, great views.
Andrew
A fabulous old farm house full of character but bang up to date with good extremely well appointed kitchen cw induction hob and utensils for every occasion. We stayed here with 6 adults and 4 children and the 6 lovely bedrooms suited our needs. The winding drive down from the main road is worth it and to have the sea only 5 minutes walk away is another feature. There are fine views out of every window and the garden was ideal for us. We would recommend this Farmhouse to everybody.
