The property was beautiful, well equipped and in a great location. My only gripe is that we paid 683 but the property was not clean. We couldn't access the cottage until 3pm under the pretence that housekeepers would be in. I paid 13.40 for a days worth of parking because I couldn't access the scratch pass until 3pm. When we got into the property, the beds were made with fresh towels laid out. It looked amazing. When we actually started living it we found cobwebs in the sink, old hair ties with matted hair on in the bathroom. Thick dust under the bathroom sink, and the kids found an old pair of kids underpants in their bedroom! It seems we could have accessed the property hours earlier. The cobwebs and guest book suggested the property is largely disused. I feel it is overpriced or would certainly be used more as it's a wonderful property from 1750.

The cottage was absolutely amazing. We loved our stay, and would come back again in a heartbeat! My only minor gripe is that there are no recycling facilities! We recycle a lot more than we throw away, and so we only filled one orange bag with waste in the whole week, but took two bin bags worth of recycling back home with us. Perhaps this could be a looked into? That aside, it was a fantastic base for a brilliant week in Whitby, and we even managed to find it reasonably easily.
