Location was excellent. Central to whitby. Parking is challenging. Parking at the back should be limited to a small car.. its a very tight turn into the space. My toyota zaris had inches to spare. No salt, pepper, sugar or bin bags so you need to take your own. Beds were comfortable but would be better if they were queen size rather than simply double. TVs only works if you have your own streaming accounts. It was expensive for the quality of accommodation. Hot tub was fantastic. We had a great time in whitby..

This house is the best one we have rented in whitby over the years. A lovely clean well equipt house that has an added bonus of a hot tub and large back garden for dog owners. Would highly reccommend and we will be back next year!!!

On arrival managed to scrape our car getting into the very tight driveway. Didnt use this again. The other 2 parking spaces not clearly labelled for the property. Very limited hand soap, something I see as a basic provision. Only 1 dishwasher tablet for 10 people. Good position for exploring Whitby however, generally enjoyed our stay once initial parking issues were sorted.

A great place to stay in Whitby, especially for larger families. Good location, had everything that we needed and the hot tub was a fantastic bonus. Clean and tidy, would certainly recommend and definitely book again if we get the chance. Very helpful owners arranged to have something returned to us that we left behind by accident also.
We had a wonderful week here 9th 16th August 2025. The house is lovely spacious, clean, and comfortably furnished good quality linen and towels are supplied. All the double bedrooms are a good size and there is more than adequate storage space. Parking and the hot tub were particularly welcome features and the location is excellent. We were really impressed by the swift response of the owners to a couple of minor queries we had they were easy to contact and dealt with our questions straightaway. Were already talking about booking again.

This house was perfect for our extended family both in size, location and layout. It was furnished and supplied with all the home comforts, to a high spec. The welcome hamper and of course the hot tub were both lovely extras. The fact that there was parking for our 3 cars was a deciding factor of our booking. As was the location. We had the privilege of meeting the owner during our stay so any small niggles were quickly sorted. I would highly recommend Friendship House for any large group.

We enjoyed our stay. The owners were prompt communicating with us, and the welcome basket of tea and treats was appreciated. Things that could have improved the stay are saucepans big enough to cook meals for the number of people the house sleeps, locks on the bathroom doors, more than one set of front door keys.
Perfect for our family stay. Thoughtful basket on arrival enabling us to have a cuppa and cakebiscuit on arrival. Spacious house and the parking was a tremendous bonus, in fact we parked up and walked everywhere. Our party of 10 plus 3 dogs ages 5 up to 82 all had a brilliant time.
This was our second visit to Normanby Terrace did not disappoint. A clean and comfortable house, situated in a fantastic location. Probably need to look at some new pans, as the frying pans are no longer non stick. Also had to purchase a cooking pot in order to make a curry for 5 persons. Other than that, we had a great time and will be back again.

We have had a wonderful time at friendship house . The house is so warm and has everything you need for the perfect holiday.9 of us stayed there and all said they loved the house .perfect location quiet but near all the shops and cafes restaurants.Jacuzzi was lovely for our Daughter and the parking was great although we didn't need it as we got a minibus taxi to take us .We will definitely be back next year .

Location was excellent. The house was ideal for our whole family. Furnishings were basic but suited our needs. The back area was not easy to park in but the space in the next street was fine for both our vehicles. We had an excellent holiday.

A beautiful home and well equipped with all you would need for a great stay. It would of been nice to have full length mirror in all the bedrooms though. Maybe a couple extra pillows also however a bathroom on every floor was great. The hottub was a lovely addition. As was the outside furniture a.d location to shops and We would love to come back and stay again as great time had by all of us.

This is my third time staying at Normanby Terrace and Im looking forward to going back again next year. We always have a great time here, either with friends or family. The house is beautiful and in a great location. We love that it is pet friendly and the hot tub is a massive bonus. Would definitely recommend!!
Had a great time, plenty of room for all 10 people. Very close to all facilities, This is not a complaint but the radiator in the front bedroom has a pinhole in it which I suspect is causing the boiler to lose pressure.. Overall we had a really good time at Normandy house. Colin
Fantastic house in a superb location in Whitby. Ideal for exploring the wonderful Yorkshire Coast. The house was clean, comfortable and well kept. Beds were large and extremely comfortable. If you are looking for a great stay in Whitby then you can't go wrong with 4 Normanby Terrace.

We have had a fabulous holiday with our children, grandchildren and granddog. The house was in a great location in Whitby, very close to the centre. It was big enough for all of us and very comfortable. Everything we needed was available, very well equipped with lots of extras including a well stocked hamper and 3 parking spaces. The bedding, towels etc were good quality and the hot tub was a massive plus. The host was very responsive and positive. Highly recommended.

There was everything we needed for our stay. Baby cots and high chair were excellent. Hi, thank you for a lovely stay at the house last weekend. Lovely and warm, great location, very good value for money, bonus that it has 3 parking spaces, hot tub was fantastic very clean and obviously new. My suggestions for improvement are minor e.g that the knives weren't very sharp and the potato peeler didn't work very well. The only other thing I would suggest is that you update the photos on the website. We were almost put off by the photos because they made it look very basic and we've tended to stay in quite luxurious places in the past. We actually decided on this one because it was cheaper than others. But when we got there we were pleasantly surprised by the place, so I think the photos don't really do it justice. best wishes, Rachel

Excellent stay. All the family were extremely happy. Very good facilities, utility room, kitchen, bed linen etc. Lovely touches from the owner on arrival which were really appreciated.
This is a great house in a top spot for exploring Whitby and the surrounding areas. It is bright, clean and comfortable with good facilities and equipment to cater for large groups. Only downside was the tiny kitchen sink which made things tricky when trying to clean things too big or not suitable for the dishwasher. Hot tub is clean and well maintained and was a lovely extra to help create a relaxing holiday. Overall, I would recommend this as a very well placed and comfortable accommodation for a large party.
We had a fantastic stay in Whitby for the week the house provided us with everything we needed and more. And the hot tub was a nice added extra. We were surprised to find a welcome hamper too which came with some fresh coffee, bottle of Prosecco, tea, biscuits etc. There was plenty of space for our large group and a secure courtyard out the back for the dogs & car too. The parking just round the corner came in useful and was enough for another 2 cars if needed. We had our toddler with us and the property came with a high chair included, along with bowlsplatescutlery for kids which was a great touch! Close to the beach, town centre and good road links to elsewhere, it was the perfect base for our week long stay well definitely be back!

Absolutely loved this property, the owner let us stay at very short notice. Where to start,they had thought of everything, the house was huge but very homely, we loved it.Everywhere was spotless,very large comfortable beds,great shower on the first floor.plenty of fluffy white towels.The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise, there was so much in it. The hot tub was amazing, loved it,perfect after a day walking. Situated in a beautiful part of Whitby, five minutes walk to west cliff and very close to a lovely gin bar and coffee shops and a great cake shop.loved this property, highly recommended, would definitely go back

Only criticism is be would have liked a shower, instead of bath in Attic bathroom. But that is personal choice. Apart from that the property was very very clean, good facilities, very nice hot tub. Good location. I would definitely recommend.
Had a fantastic stay at the cottage a large group of friendsfamily. Its in a good central location. Theres plenty of room for 11 with a bathroom on each floor. The communal areas, kitchen and 2 living rooms had plenty of room. The hot tub was a bonus in such a central location. Would highly recommend. It was well equipped and had everything you could need. We spent a wonderful half term week in this property in Whitby with my parents, 2 boys and dog. House was fantastic, clean, spacious and all the facilities you could think of perhaps apart from some tongs in kitchen for morning bacon
What a well situated house close to everything only complaint would be mats downstairs we all kept tripping on them. But everything thing else was great easy to find also the information pack was great and had loads of information about whitby would go back there again.
