Atlanta, High Hawsker

Comfortable property. Good location. Plenty of room

This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in, in terms of overall convenience and comfort. Very well located within five minutes of supermarkets but also easy to walk into Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay the walk to the abbey is mainly quite flat and easy. A big garden which was excellent for dogs may have been useful to have a dog waste bin in the garden but there are dustbins at the front of the house. The kitchen was mostly well stocked and had two different fridge spaces. Nice dining room that seats eight. Lots of seating space in the lounge and comfortable furniture. Bedrooms were comfortable, and there are two bathrooms we did miss having a downstairs loo but this would only be a real issue if anyone had mobility probs or for very young children. The owners had left a lovely basket of local goods for us which was a nice touch. The pub next door serves good food you need to book as it gets busy. Parking was never an issue and we could always park our two cars near to the house. We would definitely stay at this property again, thanks for such a lovely stay.

We had a great stay. Good communications with the owners. Some good and not so good points. Good Points Lovely garden, great for dogs and families alike, very convenient pub, walkable to the cinder path, great location, tv and wifi worked great, attic room was lovely, welcome pack provided, parking on road but no issues at all, washing machine was very convenient. Beds were very comfortable with lovely clean and sparkling white bed linen, pillows also really comfortable. It has a double hob oven and 2 fridges which was very convenient. Not so Good Points Toilet in main bathroom needed a bleach and clean which we did kitchen and some areas of the cottage also could be better cleaned, some of the kitchen cupboards smelt musty. The dishwasher had dirty dishes in it from previous needs new wheels at the back to make it work properly, shark hoover also blocked. Easy fixes that the cleaners could address

Atlanta is a great property. It is a little quirky which we loved and well appointed with almost everything you would need. The bus to Whitby stops pretty much outside your door and makes for stress free travel. The addition of a downstairs toilet would be a huge improvement and it would have been an advantage to know that dogs were not allowed upstairs before we booked but furry friends are very well catered for with bowls, poo bags we had taken our own anyway and a great secure garden. The Hare and Hounds, next door, does superb food, although booking is essential. We arrived on the Saturday when there was a music festival on at the pub. The music was very loud but great and we sat in the garden of Atlanta and listened. Respectfully, they had finished by 10pm. We would definitely recommend Atlanta to anyone looking to explore Whitby and North Yorkshire. Communication with the owners was top notch and they were exceptionally helpful throughout our stay.

The property was lovely plenty of space for all of us six adults and a toddler at one point and very dog friendly. It is on the road, but we managed to park nearby if not right outside. The small entrance hall was a useful area to ensure dogs and toddlers couldn't get to the road when the door was open. Thank you for supplying large mugs so many rentals only have small cups! and plenty of kitchen utensils. The bedrooms all had comfy beds and the ensuite shower is large. The attic room is up a set of steep steps but is very pretty probably not suitable for toddler our grandson slept with mum in the room with the bed against the wall and kept the door shut as its near the stairs. There is a couple of steps down from the two bedrooms on the first floor to the bathroom take care if you need the loo in the night! The garden is large and enclosed very safe for our two dogs next door has a dog if your dog is reactive we just brought ours inside if theirs was out The log burner made the room cosy in the evenings and the very nearby pub had great food book a table, it can be busy! The cinder path is easy to access and was a pleasant walk to Robin Hoods Bay. Shops are nearby 5 minute drive and fresh eggs across the road at the farm. It was easy to communicate with the owners who answered our questions promptly. Could it be improved? A downstairs toilet would be handy, a French press for the coffee that was kindly supplied but nothing that would stop us renting here again, everyone thought it was a fabulous place.

Nice property well situated for Whitby, Scarbrough area. Nice village with nice pub close by. Great sized house big garden and good facilities.

A bucket full of used dog poo bags was overflowing and in the middle of the garden. There was dog poo on the grass in the garden. What looked like dry food underneath the sofa. Very dark in the lounge at night. Only one lamp for the whole room. Strip light on the other side of the room wasnt working. Wheelie bins outside were overflowing so not able to use them.

We had a lovely stay at Atlanta and found the house spacious and comfortable.

We had a great stay here for 3 nights. The house is large and has character as well as comfort. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. Great location and a few doors away from the pub that does great food. The dining room is very nice although we didnt get to eat in there. All in all a great few days with the family and would go back again.
